a MUCH needed update

I figure while it’s pouring here in good ol’ Jersey I’d take a break from chasing my recycling around my backyard and soothing children who are woken up from naps by men installing siding. Anyway I have had a serious lack of updating on my part. A lot as actually gone down! My cousin Jackie has a baby boy on Tuesday of last week, named Zack! YAY! He came in at a health 8 lbs. Sadly Cameron was only the baby of the family for 1 month and 7 days. So we didn’t get to celebrate turkey day with my whole family because of the new arrival. Which is ok in my book since he was so new!
Thanksgiving was good despite the lack of children running around. Next year there will be 4 mobile ones! Oh my! But lets not think about that just yet. So back to thanksgiving. It was a great holiday. I thought it would be a little weird since this was the first thanksgiving since my mom passed away and thanksgiving was at her sister’s house. But it wasn’t, which I was very glad for. We had a lot to be thankful for in the last year so it overshadowed the sadness that the last year had.
Then there was black Friday, the day environmentalist should hate the most. It is the day that shows our country’s over indulgence in unnecessary things. I spent way too much on things I probably didn’t need but then I did get a great deal on a commercial grade washing machine. So even sometimes the environmentalist can come out head. I know I did!
Also as traditions go, Alan’s family always celebrates Hanukah the Saturday after thanksgiving. So I had to trek up to upstate NY for this event with 2 kids. I was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. The kids had a great time and everyone loved seeing them. Aiden got to hang out with his cousin Logan. Logan was little jealous of the kids though. Logan is year older than Aiden and sometimes doesn’t get that even though Aiden is the same size as him, Aiden doesn’t understand everything he does. So that was something we had to battle with, but other wise it was a great holiday. Even more exciting Alan’s family did nothing to piss me off.
Anyway now we are hurdling towards Christmas. Which I am very excited for, and then really not excited for. I have tons of shopping to do. I have 20 + people to cook for AND may I add that I’m ripping out and redoing more than half my kitchen between now and then. So lots of stuff is going around here, but it’s going to be totally worth it.
